Leichhardt House

Leichhardt House

Turning this Victorian cottage into a luxe, light-filled contemporary residence involved restoring exterior and interior as well as adding a double-storey extension.

Central to the design is a large, open space that comprises kitchen, living and dining areas, which share a vibrant palette of turquoise and chocolate against the white walls. These are tied together in a rug by Greg Natale for Designer Rugs.

As well as colour, links in pattern and shape feature throughout, for example in the vertical lines of the dining chairs and chandeliers, the hexagonal tiles and cabinetry of the kitchen, and the white and chocolate bathroom tiles. The result is a dynamic dialogue between rooms.
